San Jorge Children's Foundation (now Fundación de Niños de Puerto Rico) was established in 1995. Although it emerged as an initiative of executives and doctors of the San Jorge Children's Hospital, it has evolved and is an independent non-profit organization today. The Foundation pays for medical services and treatments to children and youngsters from low-income families diagnosed with cancer, malformations, or any chronic health condition. Today, services extend to multiple pediatric hospitals, institutions, and medical offices in Puerto Rico.
